REVIEWS:
UGLY THINGS #42 (US)
"The sophomore effort by the DC pop-psychesters features "Waiting For You" a memorably dreamy, mellotron-enhanced number redolent of the 80s Paisley Underground, not to mention their most up tempo number yet, the buoyant "Singing Man." Recommend to freakbeat addicts, greener than red heads, and syndicated dreamers." — Doug Shepherd

DAN MCNABB - vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards
CARRIE FERGUSON - keyboards
LARRY FERGUSON - drums
Originally conceived as a solo home recording project in Washington DC, The Beginner’s Mynd is Dan McNabb's homage to a bygone psychedelic era. Featuring Larry and Carrie Ferguson on drums and keyboards, they blend jangley garage rock with pop psychedelia using vintage instruments and retro recording techniques in equal measures.
In 2013, The Beginner’s Mynd released their debut sef-titled EP on Burger Records, containing the stand-out tracks “Hazy”, and “Shadows", followed up in 2015 with their first vinyl single on 13 O’Clock Records, “I Found You Out b/w When You Go”. Each release garnered favorable reviews from The Active Listener, Shindig!, and Ugly Things Magazine, as well as radio play across the USA and Europe.
With a forthcoming single on Baltimore’s Hidden Volume Records, and the recording of their debut LP underway, The Beginner’s Mynd is poised to continue delivering their sound in 2016.
